Metro Blooms Hires Executive DirectorJune 17, 2008Metro Blooms, formerly Minneapolis Blooms, has hired Rebecca (Becky) Rice as the organization's Executive Director. Rice brings a background in fund development and finance with more than 20 years in nonprofit management positions, most recently with the Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing. "My goal as the Executive Director for Metro Blooms is to build upon the great achievements of the organization, which has changed the landscape of Minneapolis by promoting eco-friendly, publicly visible gardening," said Rice.
Metro Blooms is a nonprofit educational and membership organization dedicated to ecologically friendly gardening education and the celebration of the achievements of gardeners in the metropolitan Twin Cities. Its mission is to promote and celebrate gardening to beautify our community and to heal and protect our environment.
