Chair has been a volunteer since 1995, donating much of her time to the planning and management of Metro Blooms. Joyce worked for 45 years in the areas of accounting, office management, computer operations, and marketing at Courage Center in Golden Valley, a rehabilitation and independent living center for people with disabilities. She retired in 2000 as the Director of the Courage Cards and Gifts Department, a program she initiated in 1958. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Minneapolis YWCA, the National Direct Marketing Association, and the Minneapolis Club of Zonta International. In 1982, Joyce designed and built a wheelchair-accessible home in Northeast Minneapolis, where she grows award-winning gardens. Joyce is currently active in many civic, public and neighborhood organizations. She now serves as the Chair of Metro Blooms. |
